Human Resources Manager
Job Description
The Human Resources Manager provides executive-level leadership and support of day-to-day human resource operations at Chesapeake Beverage. The HR Manager is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant Human Resources and Payroll policies, procedures, and best practices, while identifying and implementing long-range strategic goals
Primary Position Responsibilities:
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and sets training for all new staff.
• Responsible for payroll department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Collaborates with leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identifying ways to support this mission.
• Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
• Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
• Provides guidance and leadership to all teams; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
• Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
• Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in human resources required; Masters or other graduate degree highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, safety, and federal and state employment laws.
• Minimum five years human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
• SHRM or HRCI certification a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working on computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
