Position Summary: The Non-Alcohol Portfolio Sales Manager is responsible for the overall strategy, sales and marketing and business development of the Chesapeake Beverage non-alcohol portfolio which includes brands like Bang, Prime, Ghost Energy, Liquid Death Water, Alani Nu, & Super Coffee. This position is also responsible for key account strategy, trade marketing execution, full portfolio management and communication to the sales team. The manager must develop and foster a strong local working relationship with key stakeholders both externally and internally.

 Responsibilities:
  • Set objectives and tactics to achieve goals.
  • Manage Inventory and Point of Sale (POS)
  • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for incremental volume
  • Understand and support distributor needs through solution-based selling.
  • Creative and impactful wholesaler and Chesapeake Beverage presentations
  • Professional and succinct memos and distributor correspondence
  • Communication of inventory needs to the distributor network.
  • Developing High Potential employees
  • Deliver and manage transactional actives under deadlines such as team reporting and market survey recaps.
  • Establishing rapport with wholesaler middle and upper-level management
  • Instilling commitment and enthusiasm for high levels of performance
  • IRI, Cognos, and other data sources to evaluate Chesapeake Beverage business and make recommendations to retailers, suppliers and internally at Chesapeake Beverage.
  • Early morning hours & some weekend hours are required.
  • All Chain activity in the market, must understand chain store procedures to include – setup, ordering, receiving schedules, SKU mandate, & escalation procedures.
Managing the Portfolio Goals
  • Administration: Deliver and manage transactional actives under deadlines such as team reporting and market survey recaps
  • Establishing rapport with wholesaler middle and upper-level management
  • Instilling commitment and enthusiasm for high levels of performance
  • IRI, Cognos, and other data sources to evaluate Chesapeake Beverage business and make recommendations to retailers, suppliers and internally at Chesapeake Beverage.
Knowledge
  • Market and competitors to include Distribution and Volume trends, Market Share, Wholesaler Network, Supplier Network
  • 5+ years DSD Sales inclusive of Grocery, Large Format, & C-Store Channels.
  • 3+ years of successful experience managing people.
  • Must be able to lift weight equivalent to one case of beer.

  Wholesaler Management & Planning: • Execute the Market by setting objectives and tactics to achieve goals. • Manage budgets by market • Manage Inventory and Point of Sale (POS) Market Development (Hunting) • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for incremental volume • Developing tactics to close identified opportunities. Selling: Must be able to practice and teach selling process and skills • Establish goals, selling story, anticipate and handle objections • Understand and support distributor needs through solution-based selling. Communication: Effectively communicate internally & externally • Creative and impactful presentations • Professional and succinct memos & distributor correspondence • Communication of inventory needs to purchasing. People Management/Development: High priority on business and skill development • Training, developing, and critiquing the team and individual performance • Developing High Potential employees • Managing the portfolio goals. Motivating/Team Building: Strong leader & maintaining strong relationships • Establishing rapport with wholesaler middle and upper-level management • Instilling commitment and enthusiasm for high levels of performance • Working cooperatively with others across the organization. Must be current and fluent in: • Market & competitors inclusive of distribution and volume trends, market share, wholesaler network, & supplier network • Sales data and trends to include opportunity gaps, customers, competitive activities, & distributor activities that affect the market • IRI, & other data sources to evaluate business and make recommendations to retailers, & suppliers.
